The Trillium recurvatum, is a striking plant with pale green mottled leaves surrounding and unusual maroon flowers. Trilliums are incredibly hardy and such can be planted throughout the year, although they will do best when planted in autumn from August to October. Trillium recurvatum is a forest-dwelling plant so can be scorched in full sun, they should be planted partial to full shade in well-drained soil.
Trilliums like many perennial plants can take quite a long time to establish, but they are very long-lived once settled in, producing beautiful flowers through March to May for many years to come.
