Hyacinths

Hyacinth (Hyacinths)

30 products

Hyacinths’ fragrant, densely packed spring blooms (March – April) provide abundant nectar and pollen for early-season pollinators, including honeybees (Apis mellifera), queen bumblebees (Bombus terrestris), and solitary bees like Osmia cornuta. Their vibrant flower spikes are particularly attractive to pollinators emerging from hibernation when few other nectar sources are available. While not native, hyacinths complement UK wildflowers like primroses in gardens, extending early spring forage. Planted in sunny borders or containers, they offer a reliable food source for insects while adding vibrant colour. Their strong scent also helps guide pollinators to them.
