Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best material for plant protection?

The best choice depends on your needs. Fleece provides insulation while allowing light and water through, mesh offers breathable protection against frost and pests, and plastic traps heat and moisture, making it ideal for seedlings.

How do I choose the right size plant cover?

Measure your plant area to ensure a snug fit, preventing wind from loosening the cover. Adjustable covers work well for growing plants, while taller plant covers are best for trees and large shrubs.

How effective are plant fleeces in protecting against frost?

Plant fleeces are great for mild frosts, trapping warmth from the soil. For harsher conditions, rigid covers like greenhouses or cloche-style protectors offer better insulation and protection.

How do I maintain plant covers for long-term use?

Clean plastic cloches to prevent algae growth and inspect fleece covers for wear. Store them in a dry place when not in use to extend their lifespan, and replace any damaged sections to ensure continued protection for your plants.
