The Trillium cuneatum, also known as Little Sweet Betsy, is a simple, but beautiful low-lying plant with large green mottled leaves surrounding a lovely sky-facing maroon flower. Trilliums are incredibly hardy and such can be planted throughout the year, although they will do best when planted in autumn from August to October. Trillium cuneatum is a forest-dwelling plant so can be scorched in full sun, they should be planted partial to full shade in well-drained soil.
Trilliums like many perennial plants can take quite a long time to establish, but they are very long-lived once settled in, producing beautiful flowers through April and May for many years to come.
