The Allium holandicum 'Purple Sensation' is a stunning deep purple allium with small flowers reaching out from the top of the impressive 90cm tall flower spike. The Purple Sensation is best planted late in the year from September to December, the allium will produce beautiful purple blooms starting in late spring. This allium has received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

The Allium holandicum 'Purple Sensation' does best when planted about 10cm deep in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny area in the garden. Taller alliums like this one can also benefit from shelter on one side to help prevent the tall flower spikes from being blown over.
