The Arisaema fargesii also known as a Cobra Lily for its snake-like hood is a striking plant with a deep purple spathe accompanied by large trifoliate leaves. This unusual plant does best in shady areas with plenty of drainage and a healthy amount of leaf mould to encourage growth. Once they are established in your garden they require very little attention aside from needing a bit of protection for very severe frosts.

The Arisaema fargesii does best when planted through spring in March, April and May, it will then produce its iconic hooded flowers throughout the summer months. Once fully grown this plant can reach an impressive 70cm.
