The Allium obliquum, also known as the Lop-sided Onion or Twisted-leaf Onion is a unique-looking plant with pale green-yellow flowers with very long stamens extruding out. The allium is best planted late in the year from September to December for beautiful blooms in early summer. Once fully grown the plant can reach a massive 90cm.
The Allium obliquum does best when planted about 10cm deep in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny area of the garden. Taller alliums like this one can also benefit from shelter on one side to help prevent the tall flower spikes from being blown over.
Planting Time: September - December
Flowering Time: June - July
