The Allium neapolitanum 'Cowanii' is a stunning allium with dense umbels of pristine white flowers. The Cowanii is an autumn bulb and as such should be planted late in the year from September to November. The plant with then produce brilliant blooms in early summer around June. When fully grown the allium can grow to 60cm.
The Allium neapolitanum 'Cowanii' does best when planted about 10cm deep in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny area of the garden. Taller alliums like this one can also benefit from shelter on one side to help prevent the tall flower spikes from being blown over.
