Hippeastrum 'Hercules' bulbs produce lush plants, boasting strong stems with swordlike leaves and an abundance of large, showy flowers. These blooms are impressively large and have a distinct deep carmine pink hue, framed by pale pink hues on the petal edges.
Hippeastrum 'Hercules', better known as Amaryllis, flourishes when planted and tended in a soil rich in nutrients and humidity with good drainage, and direct sunlight with protection from gusts. Known to regularly bear an abundance of sturdy blooms, planting should be done with the upper half of the bulb above the soil.
Fertilize Hippeastrum 'Hercules' with a liquid fertilizer routinely, skipping applications when it's in bloom. When the flowering wraps up, give feedings every 10 days. Cut the leaves back yearly in late autumn and let the plant take a break until it revives.
