The Hyacinth 'Atlantic' (prepared) bulbs produce clusters of bell shaped, violet blue flowers. This Hyacinth is highly scented making them excellent for cut flowers.
Hyacinths referred to as "prepared" are given this name because they have been readied for early blooming. This process involves cooling the bulbs at below freezing temperatures for approximately a week during the summer.
The Atlantic Hyacinth will flower in December/January and is suitable for planting in sunny and partially shaded locations and requires well drained soil. Hyacinths can be left in the ground over the winter time.
Some Hyacinth bulbs can cause skin irritations so it is recommended that gloves are worn when handling.
