With its mid-sized stature, this stunning plant showcases striking, branched flowers on stiff stems. Its attractive grey-green spiky leaves are adorned with delicate streaks of white. Florists adore its longevity as a cut flower, and it also serves as a delightful treat for bees and butterflies. Standing at a height of 60cm, it thrives in full sun.

These remarkable Eryngiums are the perfect choice for dry, sunny borders and gravel gardens. Their thistle-like flowers consist of tightly packed clusters of tiny blooms, surrounded by spiny bracts. When cut, these flowerheads endure exceptionally well and can even be dried for long-lasting enjoyment.

Eryngium x zabelii 'Big Blue' exhibits magnificent cones encircled by a ruff of long and spiky bracts. Its flowers boast a dense and vibrant blue hue, beautifully contrasting with the grey-green leaves. This variety flourishes in well-drained borders basking in sunlight, making it an ideal addition to informal and wild gardens. The profusion of blooms will attract an abundance of bees, adding life to your outdoor space.

For optimal growth, plant Eryngium x zabelii 'Big Blue' in free-draining soil and ensure it receives ample sunlight. In colder climates, it may be necessary to protect the roots with a straw mulch and tidy spent foliage in the spring to prevent rot.

Eryngium 'Big Blue' is renowned for its ability to attract bees, butterflies, moths, and other pollinators. Its nectar-rich flowers provide a valuable food source.

This upright herbaceous perennial features spiky, highly divided silvery-green foliage. From this foliage emerge enchanting flowering cones, encircled by long and prickly intense-blue bracts. As its name suggests, 'Big Blue' makes a bold statement in dry, sunny borders and gravel gardens, inviting swarms of bees with its everlasting blooms.
