The Fritillaria pontica more commonly known as the Pontic Fritillary, is a simple, yet beautiful fritillary with fine grass-like stems supporting stunning green flowers with purple streaks. This fritillary doesn't get quite as large as other species, reaching 40cm when fully grown. The Pontic Fritillary does best when planted from September to November, the plant then blooms throughout spring.
The Fritillaria pontica is quite easy to grow and does well in borders and raised beds. The bulbs should be planted in full sun to partial shade around 20cm deep.
