The Tulip 'Striking Match' bulbs produce flowers which have an orange and yellow base fading out to a soft burgundy, giving the illusion of a lit match. These tulips are generally long stemmed and they are weather resistant which makes them a good choice for bedding.
The Striking Match flower is a Division 6 tulip, characterised by a single, lily-like flower which bloom in mid to late spring. Petals arch outwards and have a pointed apex.
The Striking Match Tulip flowers in May and will grow well in a wide variety of conditions, but will prefer fertile, well drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded area.
