Roscoea auriculata bulbs produce stunning flowers. The foliage is green and grass-like, with lance-shaped leaves that support the beautiful blooms. These flowers bear a resemblance to orchids, featuring a large lip-like petal. The flowers themselves are a vibrant shade of purple, with a white inner hood and bright yellow anthers.

Roscoea auriculata thrives in semi-shaded areas with well-draining soil and requires a cool environment to flourish. It is extremely resilient in cooler climates and does not require winter protection. This plant is highly recommended for naturalizing an area, as it has a tendency to clump.
