Hippeastrum 'Clown' bulbs yield beautiful plants with resilient floral stalks bearing sword-shaped foliage and numerous clusters of large blooms. These blooms boast a pristine white hue adorned with vivid red streaks, sometimes accompanied by a tinge of green at the flower's throat.
Hippeastrum 'Clown', more commonly known as Amaryllis, prospers when planted and maintained in a nutrient-rich, humid potting soil, within direct sunlight and sheltered from strong winds. This cultivar is known to regularly produce multiple, long-lasting blossoms, provided bulbs are planted with the upper half of the bulb visible above the soil.
Provide a liquid fertilizer to your Hippeastrum 'Clown' regularly, except when it is in bloom. When flowering is complete, feed every 10 days. Prune the foliage annually in late fall and let the plant rest until it resumes growth.
