An elegant, deciduous plant that produces a profusion of beautiful purple flowers from summer to autumn. 'Super Nova' features attractive mid-green leaves and large single blooms measuring up to 9cm (4in) in diameter. The rich royal purple petals are beautifully veined in shades of violet, radiating towards the central white bars. The slightly recurved and ruffled margins showcase the stunning colouring in its entirety.

Clematis plants can be either deciduous or evergreen shrubs, herbaceous perennials, or climbers that use twining leaf stalks. Many varieties also produce striking flowers, while some feature fluffy seedheads in autumn.

To ensure the happiness of this plant, it is best to plant it in a location where its roots will remain cool and moist, ideally with some shade provided by lower-growing species. This plant prefers full sun and a well-drained soil.
