With its vibrant green pinnate leaves and 5cm (1.5in) wide flowers, Clematis viticella 'Little Bas' is a stunning climbing plant that blooms late summer to early autumn. Its violet sepals, which fade to cream at their bases, make it a perfect companion for climbing roses and a quintessential addition for a charming 'cottage garden' aesthetic. Clematis plants can be either deciduous or evergreen shrubs, herbaceous perennials, or climbers that use twining leaf stalks. Many varieties also produce striking flowers, while some feature fluffy seedheads in autumn.
