Known for its exceptional size and deep red colour, Clematis 'Ruutel' is a highly regarded hybrid. Its striking flowers, adorned with dark red anthers, add a dramatic touch to any garden from June to September. With a height of only 1.5-2.5m, this clematis is ideal for container gardening or as a vibrant wall or fence covering. Its name, 'Rootle', is pronounced with emphasis on the first syllable.

Clematis plants can be either deciduous or evergreen shrubs, herbaceous perennials, or climbers that use twining leaf stalks. Many varieties also produce striking flowers, while some feature fluffy seedheads in autumn.

To ensure the happiness of this plant, it is best to plant it in a location where its roots will remain cool and moist, ideally with some shade provided by lower-growing species. This plant prefers full sun and a well-drained soil.
