This particular clematis was first showcased at the 2018 Chelsea Flower Show, where it caused quite a sensation with its exquisite velvety red, star-shaped flowers. With its compact growth, it is ideal for larger containers or filling empty spaces in the garden, and it will continue to astonish with its dazzling display from midsummer and beyond. The striking deep velvety red petals are beautifully complemented by dark red, almost black-tipped anthers, making it a truly stunning choice for container planting.

Clematis plants can be either deciduous or evergreen shrubs, herbaceous perennials, or climbers that use twining leaf stalks. Many varieties also produce striking flowers, while some feature fluffy seedheads in autumn.

To ensure the happiness of this plant, it is best to plant it in a location where its roots will remain cool and moist, ideally with some shade provided by lower-growing species. This plant prefers full sun and a well-drained soil.
