This deciduous climber produces stunning deep purple blooms from July onwards, making it an attractive addition to any aspect. It is versatile and ideal for use in beds, borders, and especially when trained up a pergola or archway.
Clematis plants can be either deciduous or evergreen shrubs, herbaceous perennials, or climbers that use twining leaf stalks. Many varieties also produce striking flowers, while some feature fluffy seedheads in autumn.
To ensure the happiness of this plant, it is best to plant it in a location where its roots will remain cool and moist, ideally with some shade provided by lower-growing species. This plant prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
