Clematis cirrhosa 'Christmas Surprise' is a compact and winter-flowering variety of clematis, noted for its creamy, bell-shaped blooms that appear from December to February. Set against deep green, lance-shaped foliage, these flowers provide a subtle yet beautiful addition of colour and fragrance to the garden during the darker months. Thriving in sheltered gardens, 'Christmas Surprise' is the perfect choice for a well-established deciduous shrub or a south-facing wall.

Clematis plants can be either deciduous or evergreen shrubs, herbaceous perennials, or climbers that use twining leaf stalks. Many varieties also produce striking flowers, while some feature fluffy seedheads in autumn.

To ensure the happiness of this plant, it is best to plant it in a location where its roots will remain cool and moist, ideally with some shade provided by lower-growing species. This plant prefers full sun and well-drained soil.

Height: This plant is usually between 75-90cm tall when it arrives but can reach 2m. 3L deep rose pots with 90cm cane. Pruning Group 1.
