The Allium 'Gladiator' is a large species of allium with giant blooms covered in star-shaped purple flowers. The Gladiator is a winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit, with its impressive stature and ability to do well in almost any garden it is easy to see why. This plant typically gets to an enormous 170cm making it one of the largest alliums available. The plant does best when planted late in the year from September to December for a bloom starting in early summer.
The Allium 'Gladiator' is best planted around 10cm deep into well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Taller alliums like this can also benefit from shelter on one side to help protect it from the wind.
