Agralan Red Spider Mite Control 'Spring' - Predatory Andersoni Mites

Red spider mites are a common pest of greenhouse, conservatory and garden plants, feeding on sap and causing fine speckling, yellowing and general decline. These tiny mites are often difficult to spot until damage becomes visible, and in heavy infestations, they produce fine webbing that can cover leaves and stems. They can overwinter in sheltered areas such as greenhouses or even inside bamboo canes, leading to recurring problems year after year.

How to Control Red Spider Mites

Agralan Red Spider Mite Control ‘Spring’ uses predatory Amblyseius andersoni mites to provide a natural and effective solution. These beneficial mites feed on red spider mites, helping to keep populations under control before they become damaging. Ideal for early-season use, they are particularly effective as a preventative treatment where infestations have occurred previously. This biological control method is completely chemical-free and safe for use around people, pets and wildlife.

How to Use the Predatory Mites

Simply hang the breeder sachets directly onto plants, allowing the predatory mites to emerge gradually and disperse over time. For best results, introduce early in the season between April and May, or when temperatures are consistently above 15°C. Position sachets close to areas where mites are likely to develop and avoid using chemical sprays that may harm the predators. Early and preventative use will help stop infestations before they take hold.
