Echinacea (Coneflowers)
Echinacea, or coneflowers, provide long-lasting nectar for bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Their open flower heads make feeding easy for a wide range of species. They continue flowering into late summer when other nectar sources are scarce.
Seed heads remain through autumn and winter, attracting finches and other seed-eating birds. Plants grow well in sunny borders and tolerate a range of soils. They mix easily with other perennials, creating varied habitats that support insects and birds throughout the year.
