Wisteria sinensis, native to China, boasts stunning purple-blue and violet-blue flowers with a touch of lilac-white. These fragrant blooms form long racemes ranging from 15-40cm and appear from late April to June. Unlike its cousin, the Japanese species, sinensis twines in a counter-clockwise direction and typically produces flowers on exposed stems. While the racemes may be smaller, they make up for it with a more intense scent. This deciduous plant is a must-have for any garden.
Caution: This plant is harmful if ingested
