This plant is a strong, deciduous plant that grows up to 9m and wraps itself clockwise as it climbs. In the spring, the leaves emerge bronze-green and in autumn, they turn yellow. In late spring and early summer, drooping flower racemes up to 50cm long bloom with over one hundred sweetly-scented flowers in pale violet, with deeper colouring on the wings and keels.
To ensure the happiness of this plant, it is best to plant it in a location where its roots will remain cool and moist, ideally with some shade provided by lower-growing species. This plant prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
Height: This plant is usually between 75-90cm tall when it arrives but can reach 8m.
