
Greater Reedmace (Typha latifolia)
Also known as 'Greater Reedmace'.
This is the common bulrush, it is taller and more vigorous than any other. It has dark chocolate-coloured seed heads. Not recommended for garden ponds it is better in large lakes.
Attractive seed heads may be left all winter if desired but best cleared if they fall into the water. Cut back foliage before spring growth starts.
Plant in full sun between 1cm and 40cm deep.
