Tulipa 'The Lizard' Bulbs

Add a unique spectacle to your spring garden with Tulipa 'The Lizard'. This Darwin Hybrid tulip creates a stunning display with its distinctive, feathered colouring.

  • Its petals are a creamy white, dramatically flamed with deep pink streaks.
  • This tulip is also known as a 'Rembrandt-type' tulip due to its broken, bi-coloured pattern.
  • It reaches a height of approximately 45cm with a spread of 10-15cm.
  • The strong stems hold the flowers steady, making them excellent for cutting.

Benefits for UK Wildlife

This tulip provides an early source of pollen for foraging bees. You will see bumblebees and other pollinators visiting the blooms in mid to late spring.

Planting Tips

  • Plant your bulbs in autumn, from October to November.
  • Choose a spot with well-drained soil and full sun.
  • Plant the bulbs pointy-end up, at a depth of three times their own height.
  • Space the bulbs about 10-15cm apart.
  • For a natural look, scatter a handful of bulbs and plant them where they land.
