Tulip 'Black Bean' bulbs can reach heights of 50cm with greyish green stems producing deep purple flowers with a glossy finish, giving the plant an almost black appearance and a silky purple sheen that appears in the sunlight.

The Black Bean tulip will grow well in a wide variety of conditions, but for best results should be planted in a moist, well drained soil in a sunny area of the garden.

This flower is classified as a Single Late tulip, these are characterised by single flowers blooming late in the season.
