Scadoxus multiflorus bulbs, commonly called the blood lily, produces a striking plant. Its elongated leaves resemble those of a banana tree, often displaying a ruffled or wavy appearance. A sturdy, stout stem supports numerous tiny, vibrant red flowers with elongated anthers. The compact blooms cluster together to form a spherical shape.
Scadoxus multiflorus thrives in indoor settings when grown in a pot and kept at warm temperatures. Alternatively, it can be grown outside in a sheltered or partially shady area during the summer, but must be protected from frost and stored in a frost-free location during colder months.
