Bloodwort (Rumex sanguineus)
Also known as 'Wood Dock'.
Attractive rosettes of green ovate leaves with bright red veins, this plant is mainly grown for its foliage. Remove the flower heads to maintain the red leaf veins.
Remove dock-type flower spike to retain leaf colour. Remove damaged foliage when required to encourage new leaf growth in spring. Trim back in autumn to just above the water surface.
Plant in full sun to partial shade between 0cm and 15cm deep.
