ProRep Mini Terrarium 310x210x200mm

Give small plants a space of their own with the ProRep Mini Terrarium 31x21x20cm. Its rectangular footprint and modest height suit an evolving display of compact foliage, young plants or rooted cuttings being grown on. You could create a permanent miniature garden, or use removable pots to enjoy a small collection while it develops before moving individual plants to larger homes.

A flexible layout for changing collections

The 31cm-wide front offers room to arrange plants beside each other rather than stacking foliage into a narrow tower. Keep the larger specimen towards one end and reserve a lower area for a smaller plant or a simple piece of décor. Leaving space between them makes inspection and selective watering easier.

This model has the same listed footprint as the 31x21x15cm terrarium, with an additional 5cm of overall height. That gives more flexibility for small pots and new growth. It does not make the enclosure a permanent home for full-sized houseplants, so allow for the combined height of containers, substrate and leaves.

Grow plants on without losing sight of them

Small rooted Fittonia or tropical Peperomia can be considered where their particular growing requirements can be met. Using individual pots lets you inspect each rootball and remove a plant when it needs more space. It also makes it easier to avoid treating every plant as though it needs exactly the same amount of water.

Choose healthy material and keep labels with young plants so that names and care requirements do not become confused. A display of rooted cuttings can be attractive in its own right, but growth should guide the layout. Move plants on when they become crowded rather than repeatedly forcing them back into the available space.

Accessible, ventilated glass construction

The tempered glass panels provide clear views, while the sliding mesh lid opens from above for handling pots, trimming and cleaning. Raised feet leave an air gap beneath the base. Position the enclosure with enough room to operate the lid and lift plants out without catching their leaves on nearby shelving.

The mesh permits air exchange, so this is not a sealed propagation box. Humidity and temperature depend on the surrounding room and setup. Delicate unrooted cuttings that need consistently high humidity may require a dedicated propagator rather than relying on this enclosure alone.

Choose a setup that remains easy to manage

For removable pots, use a suitable tray or saucers and do not leave roots standing in collected water. A directly planted arrangement needs a clean growing medium appropriate to its plants. Either approach benefits from cautious watering and regular checks, not a routine that adds water regardless of how damp the roots remain.

Provide suitable indirect light or a separately chosen grow light. Keep the terrarium out of strong direct sunshine and away from radiators. Inspect for pests and remove deteriorating leaves before they become buried between pots or beneath groundcover.

Plan plants, pots, growing medium and equipment separately. Animal housing is another possible use, but requires a separate assessment of the species and cannot be inferred from this suggested plant-growing arrangement.

Dimensions: 31cm wide x 21cm deep x 20cm high (310x210x200mm).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this mini terrarium for rooted plant cuttings?

Yes, as a possible growing-on space when the plants’ light, warmth and moisture needs can be met. Removable pots make inspection and transplanting easier. Move young plants into larger accommodation when needed; being small at the start does not make them permanently suitable for this enclosure.

Is the ProRep Mini Terrarium a sealed propagation box?

No. It has a sliding mesh lid, which allows air exchange and moisture loss. It should not be relied on to maintain the consistently high humidity required by some unrooted cuttings. A purpose-designed propagator may be a better choice for that stage.

Can I leave plants in their pots inside the terrarium?

Yes. Small pots can make a practical display and let you water or remove plants individually. Check that their combined pot and foliage height fits comfortably. Use appropriate trays or saucers and empty collected water rather than allowing pots to stand in it.

How does the 31x21x20cm model compare with the 31x21x15cm size?

Both have a listed footprint of 31x21cm. This version is 5cm taller overall, giving more room for compact foliage and small containers. It is still a low enclosure, so measure the complete plant and pot rather than judging by pot diameter alone.

Does this planted terrarium need extra heating?

That depends on the room and the exact plants. Suitable indoor conditions may be enough, but tropical plants must not be allowed to become too cold. Do not add heat automatically: assess temperature first and follow all equipment and enclosure guidance for any proposed heating setup.
