Give a small collection of tropical plants a setting of its own with the ProRep Flatpack Terrarium 30x30x45cm. The square footprint keeps the display compact, while the additional height allows you to arrange foliage around an upright piece of cork or a carefully chosen branch. It is an inviting starting point for a planted terrarium that rewards a closer look.
A small footprint with room to build upwards
Rather than filling every corner, make one feature the centre of the design. A compact fern towards the back, low foliage near the front and a little exposed wood can suggest a miniature forest edge. The 45cm height gives this arrangement more vertical scope than a shallow moss tray without requiring a broad cabinet.
Plan for the size of the plants when established, not just their nursery pots. Growing medium and decorative materials reduce the space available for leaves. Keep a clear area inside the front opening so that watering, pruning and removing a plant remain straightforward once the display has filled out.
Choose a compatible miniature plant collection
Small forms of Fittonia albivenis could provide colourful veining beneath a compact tropical fern. A suitably small Peperomia caperata offers a different leaf texture, although its roots should not be kept constantly wet. These are planting suggestions: select individual plants with compatible light, temperature and watering needs.
Nursery-grown terrarium moss can soften a small area of the layout where its moisture requirements can be met. Leave room around the foliage rather than treating moss as a compulsory covering for every surface. A restrained planting scheme makes it easier to notice new growth, drying patches or early signs of crowding.
Front access for everyday plant care
This glass terrarium is supplied in flatpack form for assembly before use. The removable front door provides access to the planting, while mesh ventilation allows air exchange. A terrarium lock is included, and the waterproof base is a useful practical feature when cleaning and maintaining the enclosure.
The mesh makes this a ventilated growing space, not a sealed bottle garden. Humidity depends on the room, planting and watering routine; it is not automatically held at a tropical level. Check conditions around the leaves, and keep ventilation clear of foliage and decorative backgrounds.
Set up a manageable indoor garden
Assemble the enclosure on a stable, level support following the supplied instructions. Use a growing medium appropriate to the chosen plants, or conceal small removable pots within the design for easier individual care. Water cautiously and provide a way to remove excess water rather than allowing it to collect around the roots.
Choose a position with suitable indirect light, away from strong sunshine and drying heat sources. Where daylight is insufficient, plan a separate plant light with coverage appropriate to the enclosure. Keep enough clearance for the front door and for routine maintenance.
Choose plants, substrate, décor and equipment separately. This model can be enjoyed entirely as an indoor garden; any proposed animal use requires a separate assessment of species-specific space and husbandry needs.
