Nidulariums are epiphytic bromeliads that thrive in well-drained soils. Avoid waterlogged conditions as their roots are used for attachment, rather than collecting water or nutrients, and may quickly rot. These plants prefer light shade, so be sure to plant them in a bright spot with some shading from direct light. The central cup, where the leaves form a natural bowl, collects most of the water and nutrients the plant needs. It's important to fill this cup with water. As the plant matures, arching stolons will develop and create large, attractive clumps over time.
