Ornithogalum nutans, commonly referred to as drooping star of bethlehem, produces attractive blooms. Stout stalks display masses of flowers, similar in form to a bluebell. These petals possess a silvery-grey hue, highlighted with a silver stripe through the centre.
Excellent for naturalizing, this species of Ornithogalum develops clumps with time. Optimal growth is achieved in partial shade or full sun locations with a moist, nutrient-rich soil. It is also a perfect choice for cut flowers due to the long-lasting blooms.
