The Muscari latifolium also known as the Broad-Leaved Grape Hyacinth is a stunning plant with clumps of small ball-shaped flowers that start off as deep purple then suddenly change to bright violet halfway up the stem. This stunning Grape Hyacinth stays relatively small at 20cm making it perfect for planting in the front of borders. This spring-blooming bulb does best when planted in moist but well-drained soil as it starts getting colder from September to December. The Broad-Leaved Grape Hyacinth has also received the award of garden merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
The Muscari latifolium is easy to grow with little maintenance and does best when planted in moist, but well-drained soil in partial to full sun. These beautiful little plants are non-toxic so are safe for any garden, they are also beloved by bees for their nectar-rich flowers.
