Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica)
This showy perennial has lanceolate, light green leaves. The erect stems produce lavender-blue, tubular flowers crowded together on the upper part. The species name is based on the fact that it was a supposed cure for syphilis.
Little maintenance is required. Trim to tidy but leave foliage to die back naturally to encourage winter bud formation.
Plant in full sun to partial shade between 0cm and 5cm deep.
