Lycoris incarnata (Peppermint Spider Lily) Bulbs

Lycoris incarnata, known as the Peppermint Spider Lily, is a striking late-summer flowering bulb with distinctive candy-striped blooms.

The elegant flowers combine soft white petals with a pink stripe running down each one, creating a delicate yet eye-catching display.

  • Height: up to 50cm
  • Spread: 10–15cm
  • Flower colour: white with pink stripes
  • Flowering time: late summer
  • Position: full sun
  • Soil: fertile, well-drained soil

About Lycoris incarnata

Lycoris incarnata produces narrow strap-shaped leaves during spring.

The foliage remains fresh through early summer before dying back completely.

Later in the season, leafless flower stems emerge from the soil carrying umbels of elegant blooms.

  • Each umbel carries 6–8 flowers
  • Flowers measure around 7cm across
  • Petals are white with pink central stripes

The flowers open gradually from striped buds, extending the flowering display.

This species is considered one of the more cold-hardy spider lilies.

Plants will gradually multiply and naturalise where conditions suit them.

Common name:

  • Peppermint spider lily
