Hippeastrum 'Red Lion XL' bulbs produce an impressive floral display. Robust stems bear several groupings of grand, scarlet blooms. The slender leaves of this plant stand upright near the blossoms, providing contrast between the rich green and the vibrant red blooms.

Provide your Hippeastrum 'Red Lion XL' with regular liquid fertilization, pausing during the blooming season. When complete, continue fertilizing every ten days. Come autumn, cut foliage back and allow the plant to enter its dormant state until growth resumes. Plant the bulb with half of it buried and the other half exposed.

Hippeastrum 'Red Lion XL' requires well-drained, fertile soil for optimal growth and health. Partial sunlight is ideal for optimal development and can be supplemented with protection from windy conditions.
