Gladiolus murielae bulbs, also referred to as Abyssinian gladiolus, yield stunning flowers with tall stems and nodding double star-shaped blooms. The outside of the petals are pure white, forming a star shape, while a deep wine purple star pattern is featured in the flower's centre.
For optimal growth, Gladiolus murielae requires a rich, well-draining soil in full sunlight or partial shade. It is not very tolerant to frost, therefore mulching or bringing indoors during winter may be necessary. This species is also well-suited for container gardening.
