Eranthis cilicica, otherwise known as "Winter Aconites", have stunning, buttery yellow flowers contrasted against rich bronze foliage, and are excellent for naturalising. A part of the buttercup family, these plants are highly frost tolerant and can thrive under a fresh snow coating, blooming as early as January in more temperate climates. Ideal for adding to wooded areas, Eranthis cilicica take advantage of the last rays of sunshine before the heat of summer sets in.
Eranthis cilicica bulbs are suitable for planting into any soil type, provided it is not overly saturated with water. They thrive in temperate, shady woodland environments. This flower should be planted between September and December and the flowers will come up between February and March.
