Dahlia 'Cherry Cake' produces an attractive plant with tall stems and abundant, leafy, bushy leaves. This specific dahlia is classified as a decorative cactus dahlia, known for its larger, double-petaled flowers that have slightly thinner petals compared to a typical decorative dahlia.

For optimal growth, plant Dahlia 'Cherry Cake' in a pot in a warm area in early spring, then transfer it outside after the last frost. Alternatively, directly plant the bulb in the ground after the last frost. This flower thrives in full sunlight and moist, well-drained soil, in a sheltered location to shield the tall stems from wind.
