The Cypripedium parviflorum var parviflorum, also known as yellow lady's slipper, has striking bulbs that produce a beautiful plant. Its foliage boasts large, hairy, fan-shaped leaves with ridges and a long, slim stem. The flower itself is easily recognizable, with a large pouch and hood-shaped petals, accented with deep brown hues at the top. The pouch is a striking shade of golden yellow, oftentimes adorned with hints of red.

Cypripedium parviflorum var parviflorum thrives in moist, well-drained soil and partial shade. To protect against frost damage during colder winters, it's recommended to mulch with a protective layer. This species has a tendency to form clumps in its growth.
