The long wiry stems bearing strap-like leaves are wavy-edged, almost translucent with a pinkish glow. Its foliage remains submerged making it a good oxygenator.

It can be dropped in the pond as a weighted bunch but benefits from being planted in soil. Once established this plant can grow as deep as 3m.
