Achillea filipendulina 'Cloth of Gold'

Grow the striking Achillea filipendulina 'Cloth of Gold', a tall and robust yarrow cultivar. This perennial brings structure and vibrant colour to your garden borders.

Plant Description

This yarrow forms a sturdy clump of aromatic, finely divided green foliage.

From early to late summer, it produces large, flat, plate-like flower heads. These are a bright, golden yellow.

The flowers are excellent for cutting and retain their colour well when dried.

Key Features

  • Height and Spread: Grows to an impressive 1.8m tall with a spread of approximately 0.6m.
  • Wildlife Benefits: The nectar-rich flower heads attract a wide variety of UK pollinators. You will see bees, hoverflies and butterflies visiting throughout the summer.
  • Other Names: Also known commonly as Yarrow 'Cloth of Gold' or simply Achillea 'Cloth of Gold'.
  • Long Lasting: Flowers are excellent for fresh arrangements and dry perfectly for winter displays.

Planting and Care Tips

Plant your Achillea 'Cloth of Gold' in a position that receives full sun.

It thrives in well-drained soil and tolerates dry conditions once established.

Staking may be needed in exposed gardens due to its height.

Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms. Cut stems back hard in autumn.

Do you have a sunny border that needs a vertical accent? This plant provides a strong architectural form.
