Sedum (Stonecrops)

Sedum, commonly known as stonecrops, are hardy succulents that thrive in the UK's temperate climate. Their fleshy leaves and star-shaped flowers provide valuable resources for local wildlife. Many species bloom late into autumn, offering nectar when other plants have faded.

Bees and butterflies frequent Sedum flowers, supporting pollinators during leaner months. The dense foliage also shelters insects, which in turn attract birds.
